How to Get Spark in Enshrouded: Easy Methods & Pro Tips for Players

If you’ve spent any time exploring the biomes of Enshrouded, you’ve probably hit a point where you need a steady supply of Spark to craft higher-tier gear, upgrade your base, and power essential workstations. Figuring out how to get Spark in Enshrouded early in your playthrough can save you hours of wandering aimlessly, and help you progress past mid-game walls way faster than you would otherwise. I spent three separate playthroughs testing every possible way to farm this resource, and cut my usual farming time in half by focusing on the most reliable methods instead of the random drops many new players chase.

How to Get Spark in Enshrouded: Core Reliable Methods

There are two primary ways to get Spark: crafting it from basic materials, or looting it from chests and enemy drops across the map. Looting is faster for small, immediate amounts of Spark, but crafting is far more consistent for long-term stockpiles, especially once you set up steady supply chains for the required ingredients. Once you have all three of these materials, you can make as much Spark as you need, and you won't have to wonder how to get Spark in Enshrouded ever again if you keep your supply chains running.

  • Resin: Harvested from chopping down mature trees in non-Shroud forest biomes, especially pine and oak trees found north of the starting Cinder Vault. You can also get small amounts from breaking wooden furniture in abandoned homes and camps.
  • Charcoal: Made by putting 3 Wood Logs into a Charcoal Kiln, which you unlock once you rescue the Carpenter NPC early in the main quest. Avoid using scrap wood for this, as it gives far less charcoal per unit than full logs.
  • Fireplace: The only workstation that lets you craft Spark, available as soon as you build your first base. You don't need any upgraded versions of the fireplace to make this resource, so you can start crafting it within the first hour of play if you gather the right materials.

Each craft gives you 2 Spark per pair of Resin and Charcoal, so it’s easy to scale production once you have extra materials stored. I usually keep 200 Resin and 200 Charcoal in my base storage at all times, so I can make 400 Spark in 30 seconds if I run low during a big build or boss prep session.

Best Early-Game Spark Farming Routes

If you’re still under level 10 and don’t have access to a Charcoal Kiln yet, you can get all the Spark you need from a low-risk, no-combat route near the starting area. The western foothills near the first Farmer NPC have dozens of mature pine trees for Resin, a small abandoned logging camp with pre-made Charcoal piles and wood crates, and three small hidden chests that drop 2 to 3 Spark each every in-game respawn cycle. The whole loop takes about 7 minutes to run, and you’ll walk away with 15 to 20 Spark per run, plus enough extra wood to make Charcoal once you unlock the Kiln.

You don't have to go deep into the Shroud to farm Spark early on. I used to run into high-level Shroud creatures trying to loot chests for Spark, when this low-risk route gives me enough to craft all my early fire arrows and upgrade my first workbench without any combat if I don't want it. Avoid wasting early Spark on decorative fire pits, save it for upgrading your workstations and making fire arrows which are critical for taking down the first Wraith boss.

Mid-Game Spark Optimization: Cut Your Farming Time In Half

Once you hit level 15 and rescue the Lumberjack NPC, you can stop wasting time chopping trees manually and set up automated tree farms that give you a steady supply of Resin and Wood Logs while you complete quests. If you're still figuring out how to get Spark in Enshrouded consistently at level 15 and above, these automated farms will eliminate almost all of your farming work. All you have to do is check in on the farms every hour or so to collect materials, and turn the logs into Charcoal while you’re doing other base tasks.

If you prefer looting over crafting, once you unlock a flying mount you can hit the large Shroud outposts in the northern desert biome. Each of these outposts has 4 to 5 large chests that drop 10 to 15 Spark each, plus lots of scrap wood and resin you can use to craft even more. I usually run three of these outposts in a row when I need a lot of Spark fast, and I walk away with 80 to 100 Spark in 10 minutes, plus extra rare crafting materials I can use for other projects. You can also get Spark as a side reward for completing NPC quests for the Blacksmith and Carpenter, so make sure to turn in those daily gathering quests whenever you log in.

Common Spark Mistakes to Avoid at All Costs

Most new players run out of Spark constantly not because they can’t farm it, but because they waste it on low-priority items or make small mistakes that cut into their supply. First, never use Spark for regular torches: you can make those from wood and cloth for free, so save your Spark for upgrades and fire-based ammunition that you can’t make with other materials. Second, don’t leave Resin behind when you’re chopping trees: many new players think Resin is just a decorative crafting material, but it’s the core ingredient for Spark, so you should pick up every piece you find.

Another big mistake is not stockpiling Spark before heading into deep Shroud zones. You need Spark to power your Shroud Lantern upgrades, and if you run out mid-exploration you’ll take constant Shroud damage and likely lose all your loot if you can’t find a way out fast. Always keep a stack of 50+ Spark in your inventory before heading into any Shroud zone higher level than your current gear, it will save you from having to bail on a long dungeon run halfway through. Finally, don’t build more than one Fireplace: all Fireplaces craft Spark at the same speed, so extra ones are just a waste of building materials you could use for other upgrades.

At the end of the day, there's no secret trick to getting a steady supply of this resource, but sticking to consistent crafting and low-effort farming routes will make it feel like you never run out. Now that you know how to get Spark in Enshrouded, you can focus on progressing through the main quest, building out your base, and taking on higher level bosses without stopping every 20 minutes to farm more materials. Don't be afraid to adjust these methods to fit your playstyle too: if you hate chopping trees, focus on looting Shroud outposts once you have strong enough gear, it works just as well.
